A home for multiple generations, Descendant House allows 3 family units to co-exist harmoniously in a single structure. Each family unit has its own private zone complimented by a unique connection with the landscape. The kitchen ties together the family through a love of food, cooking, and gardening and beekeeping which occur on the upper portion of the site. The program is delineated by three material masses clad in masonry, wood/glass, and stucco. Each mass represents program uses specific to the various family identities within the household and a unique relationship to the site.
